The Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius) belongs to the crow family Corvidae, and is native to Europe and parts of Asia.

Jays are colourful and extremely smart - in fact, they're amongst the most intelligent animals in the world. Similar to other corvids, they're skilled mimics and can imitate the calls of other bird species, as well as sounds from their environment. They also plan for the future: collecting and caching nuts, seeds and berries when they're abundant, to retrieve during winter.
